Blog #7: Higher Education

What are your thoughts on higher education (college) in the United States. As some of you know, a U.S. education is often times perceived around the world as being prestigious. Do you think this is the case? If not, what, if anything, can be done to change this?

Why do you suppose there have been so many school shootings during the past month? Can anything really be done to prevent this?

Blog #5- The Hosptality College

As I mentioned in class last week, The Hospitality College is in the process of developing new programs and courses for future classes. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts. Is there anything we should be teaching that we are not? Conversely, is there a class in our program that perhaps shouldn't be there?

Blog #4: Current Events

It's been quite the newsworthy week (if you have been following). There have been some tragic events in our schools across the country as well as a host of new controversies for the President and his administration.

Read the newspaper or watch the television of computer news and identify a story that's of interest to you. Discuss why it is interesting to you. We'll discuss them in class on Friday.

Blog #3: Americans

As we move further into the 21st century, it has become obvious that we are now a global society and must work together more closely with other countries and cultures. That being said, do you think that Americans are truly understanding of the needs and wants of other cultures? You can base your answer on what you experience at school, at work, or in any other aspect of life.

Do you think it's o.k. to download music for free from the Internet? Explain why you feel that way.
